Surviving a serious accident
Being involved in a serious car accident, workplace accident, or other unintentional event that caused significant physical harm or put your life at risk. Including accidents where others were hurt or killed and you survived.
A serious accident happens in seconds and unspools for years, through recovery, flashbacks, and a new distrust of ordinary activities that used to be automatic. If others were hurt or killed, the weight compounds. Whatever the police report said, your body wrote its own account, and that account is the one that needs tending.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
