Surviving something that should have killed you
Coming close enough to death that it changed you. Whether through accident, illness, disaster, or any other cause. The aftermath of surviving something that felt unsurvivable. The way that kind of experience reorganizes your relationship with your own life, your body, and the future.
Coming that close to death rearranges a person permanently. Some things stop mattering, others suddenly matter enormously, and people around you expect the old you back on a schedule. There is no schedule. Making sense of survival takes as long as it takes, and the people here will not rush the process or doubt its weight.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
