Institutional and systemic failure
Being subjected to forced or coerced medical procedures
Medical procedures that happened without your genuine informed consent. Forced psychiatric treatment. Coerced sterilization. Medical experiments. Procedures that were performed on your body without your real agreement, often justified by institutional authority or your perceived inability to decide for yourself.
Having medical procedures forced or coerced onto your body is a violation at the deepest level of ownership, the right to decide what happens to you. The justifications offered, authority, protocol, your supposed incapacity, do not undo what it was. Your body belongs to you. Everyone here starts from that premise without qualification.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
