Being affected by an environmental disaster or toxic exposure
Living through an environmental disaster, chemical spill, or sustained toxic exposure that affected your health, your community, or your home. Including communities whose water, air, or land was poisoned and whose harm was minimized or ignored by authorities.
Toxic exposure is a harm that arrives without a moment to point to, poisoning slowly while officials minimize and paperwork stalls. Being sick, or afraid for your family, while being told the water is fine, layers institutional denial on top of physical harm. Your community's experience was real. Your body's experience was real. Both count here.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
