Loss and grief

Losing a relationship that mattered deeply

The end of a friendship, a romantic relationship, or a family connection that was central to who you were. Not death but still a real loss. Sometimes harder to grieve because the person is still out there somewhere and the world does not always make space for this kind of mourning.

Grieving someone who is still alive is a strange, unranked grief. The friendship that ended, the love that failed, the family bond that dissolved. None of these come with rituals or sympathy cards, yet the absence is daily and real. You are not being dramatic by mourning a living person. You are being accurate.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
