Catastrophic events

Living with a serious or long-term illness

Carrying a diagnosis that changed the shape of your life. Treatment that was frightening or painful. Symptoms nobody could explain, or that took years to be believed. Losing work, independence, plans, or the body you used to have. Including illnesses you live with now and ones you came through and never quite put down.

Living inside a body that has become unpredictable is its own long emergency, and the parts that mark you most are often not the ones on the chart. Fear, indignity, and being disbelieved leave their own residue. All of that is welcome here alongside everything else you carry.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
