Loss and grief
Carrying grief that was never allowed to be grief
Losses that the world around you did not recognize as real or significant. The death of an estranged parent. The loss of a pet. A miscarriage nobody knew about. A relationship nobody approved of. Grief that had to be carried alone because there was no space for it anywhere else.
Grief the world refuses to recognize has to be carried in secret, which doubles its weight. Whatever your loss was, if it mattered to you, it mattered. There is no committee that certifies which griefs count, and if there were, it would have no authority here. Bring it into the open. Named grief is lighter than hidden grief.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
