Institutional and systemic failure
Being failed or harmed by a government or state agency
Being failed by a government agency that had responsibility for your welfare. Immigration authorities. Benefits systems that denied what you needed. State agencies that had power over your life and used it badly or failed to use it when they should have.
Being failed by an agency that held power over your welfare, benefits denied, cases mishandled, bureaucracy weaponized, is harm delivered with a case number. Fighting a faceless system that cannot be argued with leaves a specific exhausted rage. That rage makes sense. You needed a lifeline and received a queue, and the failure was structural, not personal.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
