War, conflict, and organized violence

Being displaced or becoming a refugee because of conflict

Being forced to leave your home, your community, or your country because of war, conflict, or persecution. The journey itself, the camps, the uncertainty, the loss of everything familiar, and the experience of rebuilding a life somewhere that was not home.

Becoming a refugee means losing home, language, standing, and certainty in one continuous emergency, and then being expected to feel only grateful. Gratitude and grief travel together in displaced people, and both are honest. What you left, what happened on the way, and what it took to start over all deserve telling.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
