Exploitation
Being trafficked for labor
Being forced, coerced, or deceived into working for little or no pay under threat or control. Debt bondage. Having your documents taken. Being told you owed someone your labor and having no safe way out.
Forced labor hides in plain sight, and its survivors often struggle to be seen as survivors at all. Debt that could never be paid down, documents held hostage, threats that kept you working. None of that was a job. It was captivity with a schedule, and escaping it, however that happened, was an achievement worth honoring.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
