Identity-based harm

Being harmed or targeted because of your gender

Being treated differently, excluded, harassed, or harmed because of your gender. Being told what you could and could not do, be, or want because of it. Harm that came from gender expectations, gender roles, or deliberate targeting of your gender.

Being limited, targeted, or harmed because of your gender teaches you early that some of the rules were written against you. The harm ranges from daily dismissals to outright violence, and all of it shapes how freely you get to move through your own life. What it cost you is real, and it belongs in the open.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
