Identity-based harm
Carrying intergenerational or historical trauma
Harm that was not only done to you but to your people, across generations. The descendants of enslaved people. Indigenous communities who survived genocide and forced assimilation. Holocaust survivors and their children. Carrying wounds that predate your own life but live in your body and your family system anyway.
Some of what you carry is older than you are, passed through family systems, bodies, and silences shaped by what was done to your people. That inheritance is real and measurable, and so is the strength that came down alongside it. You did not choose this weight, and tending to it honors the people who carried it before you.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.
You do not have to carry this alone.
Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
