Self-sabotage
Something good starts to happen and something inside moves to end it. A relationship that is going well. A job that is working. A period of stability. And then something happens, something you did or did not do, and it is gone. This is not stupidity or self destruction for its own sake. It is a nervous system that learned that good things end badly, that hope is dangerous, that it is safer to control the ending than to wait for it. The sabotage is protection. It just costs more than it saves.
