An effect of trauma

Chronic pain no one can fully explain

Pain that has been investigated and treated and remains. That moves or shifts. That flares when stress is high. That doctors have struggled to fully explain or resolve. The body holds what the mind has not fully processed, and for many survivors that holding shows up as chronic physical pain. This does not mean the pain is not real. It is completely real. It means it may have an origin that standard medical treatment alone cannot reach.

It can sound like

“I have chronic pain no one can explain.” “I have seen so many doctors.” “It gets worse when I am stressed.” “I have learned to live with it.”

If any of those sentences live in your head too, you are in good company here.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
