Sexual violence

Being coerced or pressured into sexual activity you did not want

Sexual experiences that were not physically forced but were not truly consensual either. Pressure, manipulation, guilt, wearing you down, making you feel you had no real choice. Not always recognized as violation but felt like one.

Pressure that wears you down until yes is the only exit is not consent. It is strategy. Survivors of coercion often minimize it because there was no force to point at, but your own memory of dread and resignation is pointing at something real. If it felt like violation, you do not need anyone else's ruling to treat it as one.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing here decides what is wrong with you, because nothing is wrong with you. Something happened to you. This page exists so that when you are ready, you can find people who understand it from the inside.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is a free, anonymous, peer-led fellowship for trauma survivors. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person. No cost, no waitlist, no one asking for your real name.
